AZUB 5 with Trail Gator

11 10 2010

We got some nice pictures and video from France. One of our customers made a special adapter so he can use a tow bar called Trail Gator to tow his child. Another child is using standard baby seat sometimes.

From our point of view it is quite interesting solution, but we have not tested it, we have not designed it and so we do not know if we can recommend it. From our point of view much better and secure solution is the Follow-Me system.

New rear fork for Top line

28 05 2010

Back in 2006 we introduced new rear asymetrical fork for our recumbents which has been absolutely outstanding in recumbent bussines. It was developed with great czech bicycle (mostly MTB)  company which has long term experience in producing light weight and super stiff alu frames for mountain bikes as same as for road bikes. But we knew that some technical details were not perfect and especialy in case you wanted to combine Rohloff hub with stand and a trailer for example the left side of the fork was simply too overcroweded by all those brackets and adaptor.

So new developemnt has been done and we can introduce you our new fork. It has integrated stand bracket and also OEM Rohloff dropouts which makes the look with Rohloff hub very nice and clean. Also some changes around the rear fork axle has been done so all the fork is much better now. The slight disadvanteg is little higher weight, but we hope all the improvements are worth of the weight.

At the moment we have just pretty bad pictures, but we hope to have much better soon.

Traumvelo +line

9 02 2010

We have prepared a special edition of AZUB ECO for one of the best german recumbent dealers – Traumvelo. Andreas Seilinger likes the stable ride and look of the bike but wanted to have better specification and some kind of exclusivity. So what you can see is AZUB ECO Traumvelo +line with red color, Sram Dual Drive 24 speeds and some accessories in standard: mudguards (look at the front one which is longer so the water doesn´t spray your feet), stand and ECO bag. Also special stickers makes the bike different. The price is 1400 EUR, so if you like the bike, you can order it via Traumvelo near München.

Azub 5 heavy user from Finland

9 02 2010

I’m Timo Kissaniitty from Finland. We live in Helsinki with my wife, daughter and three cats. I’ve been riding a recumbent for a year and a half. The first bike was a HP Velotechnik Spirit, and now I have an Azub 5. I was looking for a recumbent for my wife and I found the Azub second hand. I tried it and soon decided that it was my thing. So my wife took the Spirit and now we’re both very happy! Now I ride about 10000 kilometres a year, more than ever…thanks to the bike. In the summer we go for a cycling trip for a week or two, usually around southern Finland or Estonia. It is essential to have a good bike in order to really enjoy the trip. Our daughter is five years old and pedals eagerly with her Hase Trets trailer bike. Often she takes a nap during the day, and wakes up when we arrive to the next pitstop (ice cream:)) So basically what I’m trying to say is that
recumbent bikes have changed our lives for the better. Long live european recumbents!

Regards, Timo Kissaniitty

AZUB Bufo built from frame set

20 04 2009

Long time I was looking for a bike for „all-day-use“ -and I found it, it’s the „Azub Bufo“.

I decided for an Azub because of the IPS, I can adjust the seat in very short time, so that my sons also can use the bike. The next point was the position of the gear and break-shifters. Azub is the only bike where the position is the same as on upright bikes. – And it looks very fine!

I purchased a frame kit directly at Azub (with carrier, stand and spinner grind fork) and equipped the bike with the Sram Dual Drive 3×8, Avid V-brakes, Schwalbe „Big Apple“ tires, Shimano hub-dynamo and B&M lights.

I tested the bike at a 3-day-trip through the „Taubertal“, two days in rain and only one day with sunshine. I’m very satisfied with the bike and think I will have many happy hours with it.
