AZUB gallery no. 1

22 03 2010

There are thousands of pictures saved in our computers and they describe the present and past of AZUB company. We think that it would be nice to show them to you. So let´s start with a short trip which we made with a goal to make some pictures of AZUB Mini and also AZUB Max. Some of these pictures has been used on catalogues and posters already.

Traumvelo +line

9 02 2010

We have prepared a special edition of AZUB ECO for one of the best german recumbent dealers – Traumvelo. Andreas Seilinger likes the stable ride and look of the bike but wanted to have better specification and some kind of exclusivity. So what you can see is AZUB ECO Traumvelo +line with red color, Sram Dual Drive 24 speeds and some accessories in standard: mudguards (look at the front one which is longer so the water doesn´t spray your feet), stand and ECO bag. Also special stickers makes the bike different. The price is 1400 EUR, so if you like the bike, you can order it via Traumvelo near München.

Azub 5 heavy user from Finland

9 02 2010

I’m Timo Kissaniitty from Finland. We live in Helsinki with my wife, daughter and three cats. I’ve been riding a recumbent for a year and a half. The first bike was a HP Velotechnik Spirit, and now I have an Azub 5. I was looking for a recumbent for my wife and I found the Azub second hand. I tried it and soon decided that it was my thing. So my wife took the Spirit and now we’re both very happy! Now I ride about 10000 kilometres a year, more than ever…thanks to the bike. In the summer we go for a cycling trip for a week or two, usually around southern Finland or Estonia. It is essential to have a good bike in order to really enjoy the trip. Our daughter is five years old and pedals eagerly with her Hase Trets trailer bike. Often she takes a nap during the day, and wakes up when we arrive to the next pitstop (ice cream:)) So basically what I’m trying to say is that
recumbent bikes have changed our lives for the better. Long live european recumbents!

Regards, Timo Kissaniitty

Azub 5 after 17.000 km

16 09 2009

You could already read about Marija Kozin on our blog. In spring 2009 she came to our facility to show us her Azub 5 after 17.000 km. Almost everything was original. Chain, crankset, cassette, pedals, rear tyre Maraton XR (fron Maraton was changed twice). The pulley had to be changed because the bearings were worn out, also the chain tubes were changed, but we were surprised how much they survived.

All around, we are pretty satisfied with the bike and how it survived such journey.

You can see some pictures here.

Annual Czech Recumbent Meeting

15 09 2009

There is a recumbent meeting in the Czech Republic every year in mid September. It is always nice to see all the friendly recumbent riders and AZUB owners. Year by year more and more participants appear and this year there were 115 recumbents and more than 130 participants. And still more and more of them are from abroad so we can already call it International Recumbent Meeting in Czech. Here you can see only very few pictures from two rides and video will come soon.

Every year the organizer is different and also the place is different. This year we were close to Dvur Kralove nad Labem. AZUB will celebrate 10 years in 2010 and we are already working on big recumbent meeting which should be a celebration of AZUB birthday. We expect to organise couple of rides incl. night ride, little recumbent orenteering, trike and snail race, couple of slide shows and video presentations, visit of local brewery, singing, vine tasting, visit of archeological place etc. etc. Simply four days full of joy, recumbents and recumbent rider´s talking:-)

We hope to meet you all here in Uhersky Brod and we hope you will come with your friends and families. Not only AZUB bents are welcomed but also all other brands, homebuilds, velomobiles, trikes etc. And if your partners do not have recumbent? Doesn´t matter, we have all started with uprights, so also they will be welcomed as usual.

Via Claudia with AZUB Bufo

14 09 2009

Bernhard who already has some pictures here on AZUB recumbents blog has sent us some new pictures from his holidays.

“This holidays I travelled the “Via Claudia Augusta”, which goes from Donauwörth to Venecia. I was biking from Nürnberg to Landeck in Austria and later a daytrip in the “Vinschgau” near Meran.”

Recumbent AZUB 5 with Bion-X

12 08 2009

Alexander from Arkhangelsk in Russia has sent us two pictures of his Azub 5 with a short comment. The interesting point is the electric asist added to the bike which changes it into the very nice electric recumbent. Do you know any other more comfortable way of riding a bike?!  🙂

Here is Alexander´s comment:

Hello!
I ride Azub 5 recumbent bike. Moreover I installed Bionx electric assistance. I use it mainly for hill climbing. Additional weight is only about 8 kg. One battery charge is enough for 100-150 km trying to save energy and regenerate it at downhills. It is a very good combination for touring. Thank you for good bike!

David is 18 years old guy from Slovakia. He came to our company two days ago and he rent an AZUB Max from us. It was his first day on recumbent and he fell in love with it. Today he started a journey to Bosnia and Hercegovina to visit a meeting of young people there. He plan to go back too. His journey should be about 1600 km long. We will post some more pictures later when he will be back at home.

Azub Eco off-road test

25 05 2009

We have received some very nice pictures from our friends who have tried the new Azub Eco recumbent off the roads. It was their first recumbent trip and it seems that they enjoyed it. It is impressive what they managed without previous recumbent experience.
